Ambassador Dr. Peter Woeste presenting his letters of credence to President Paul Kagame

On Tuesday, October 11th, the new German Ambassador to Rwanda, Dr. Peter Woeste, presented his credentials to H.E. President Paul Kagame. Ambassador Woeste expressed his gratitude for being welcomed only three weeks after arriving in the country. “This underlines the strong and sound bilateral relations between our two nations.” The upcoming weeks the German envoy is determined to see as many parts of Rwanda as possible. A special focus will be on the multitude of projects funded by the German government. Ambassador Woeste is pointing to the shift of the German Africa policy: “Chancellor Angela Merkel just today while visiting Ethiopia stressed that it is in our interest to move beyond traditional development assistance towards investment. To assist in this process will be one of my priorities during my assignment to Rwanda.”
